poem: life as participatory flow

poem: life as participatory flow

our lives are constant flow
things come together and fall apart

grief, relief
misery, joy

engaging, disengaging
exile, return

life’s paradoxical tensions
revealing a new holism

as the unity of both/and
and a peace surpassing all understanding

making room for all this
so that the hǣlan comes

Author’s note: The word hǣlan is
old English for healing.
